Autumn and everything after
It started with a goodbye. Familiar faces faded away, having found the directions from which they arrived and vanishing all at once the next morning. For the next ten days only I remained, making sure their legacy lived on… planting their seeds so they would live long after I myself decided to drift. The ancient western philosophers, those first to rein in the mythos and pen a truth, saw the past as something that flows out in front of you, and the future as that boundless energy that approaches from behind to surprise you at every instant of time. All I know is any direction I look I see the past… and the future
The last day in paradise was a great one. Blue. Cool. Plenty of Laughter. Plenty of Screaming. Someone even convinced me to save their life. Or was it the other way around…
Through the hazy sheets of my Patel I watched my hosts float away as well. Said adios to them and their dogs and heard my own echo in that big house the rest of the night.
And the next day I rode…
Four hours of interstate just to get far away from everywhere. Just in time to see the beginning of the Fall
The twisty road is the motorcyclist's passion. This twisty road in the mountains during my favorite season is pretty much what the doctor ordered for me
Clear sky and a warm reading light… and a clear mind for the long day ahead
Hundreds of trails… next time I will bring time… and company
The Smokies
Cades Cove
Time to get going
Sounds like my kind of road
Absolutely no one out here
I had to ford treacherous rapids to get to freedom
And here is what I found…
THE TAIL OF THE DRAGON
And fellow free spirits
Don't ask how the bags left the bike =) Was worth the photo though
One last stop before the long curves back to Tennessee
Home is that way
Eight more hours of interstate… blind and eager
My old backyard
My family
home
yet new roads waiting to be discovered
