Empty filled

On Earth once walked a Christian man
Whose doubts were never answered
He sailed a trail which followed his plan
For lack of finding a Master

He was of God in works alone
And realized this secret
However false, he bore good tone
Eager his ghost could keep it

How brilliant with the holy rites
Yet wondered about Heaven
And if there shone an afterlife
Saw Hell would be the given

This man gave laughter, kindness, might
Albeit his soul was hollow
His middle year he left the Light
And did not let them follow

Forsook belief that there was hope
He turned to life of glut
So pilfered what was left to cope
To grace himself with smut

His deeds effected natural ways
A child was born upon him
And as this son crept through the days
He found what he'd forgotten

Disbelief still at his core
And qualm wrapped in his heart
He taught his baby the ways of the Lord
To give him proper start

The boy believed and pap was glad
The young one had salvation
He really looked up to his Dad
Who hid falsification

The man grew old, the boy grew tough
His young faith everlasting
On dying words, his father coughed
"I'm sorry for my hap'ning"

His loved seed rose to abound
Fresh spirit full of mettle
As daddy watched from wispy clouds
Surprised to be an angel
