click... off... gone

I am thankful for 

- a few days to adjust to this time change before getting to my assigned foxhole

- running into several people I haven't seen since college

- being assigned to the same interim commander I had during training last month... she is a very kind person

- the quality of the eating here, and the privilege to have a wide selection of food, so I can follow the plan 

- the books my friends have lent me

- the laptop my roommate lent me

- the roommates, for going through this recently and keeping it real for me

- my family, for watching my dog and being pretty cool about this

- being able to speak honestly with my old friend last week, and snap at least a tusk off this elephant that's been in the room for a long time

- the safe arrival home of another friend who had some drama overseas

- the surprise shots of tequila waiting for me the night before shipping out, and the friends who drove out to see me off

- my boss and the LT for driving me to the airport themselves

- a neat opportunity to be a part of history

- and a man in Africa whom I trust with all the little I have left in this world

God's been good to me
